UNIFI AP ZIP TIE MOUNT ADAPTER

UNIFI AP ZIP TIE MOUNT ADAPTER

Adapt the mount shipped in the box with the round Unifi APs — including AC Lite and Nano HD — to work with zip ties. This is a very simple model. The idea is to use as much of the mounting equipment included with the AP as possible, and as little filament and printer time as possible. It should print in less than an hour and weighs only 5 grams. The screws included with the AP are annoyingly long. I've found they can straddle the pole and work well for most round mounting poles, but for some locations they might get in the way. Your local hardware store will have shorter screws for this situtation. Anything slimmer than a 4 mm diameter should fit. I estimate about 10 mm in length will match the part, when you also account for the thickness of a nut. My local store will sell four screws and nuts for less than $1 total. Print in pairs. Two of these makes one complete adapter kit. With the original mount acting as an insulator, it should be fine to use PLA for this. Designed in MS 3D Builder
