Unicorn nightlight battery pack
thingiverse
This is a battery pack for this devious night light with one 5mm LED that operates on 3 x 1.5V LR44 batteries. An astute primate quickly calculates the numbers, gaining an understanding that this piece of nighttime illumination runs only slightly over 1 week with 3 small batteries. My daughter received a package of 2 of these as a birthday gift and, of course, I had to take action, (I don't want to spend exorbitant amounts of money on batteries), so I designed a battery pack for 3 x AAA rechargeable batteries, approximately 1.2V each. Wiring is straightforward, use the switch on the positive lead and solder both wires to the original LR44 box terminals. The project was an unqualified success, semiflex model provides press-fit very well and holds both box and switch securely in place. If you use hot glue for the switch, be sure not to get any glue on the side of the slide.
