I first tested this script at Maker Faire NYC 2010, printing numerous unicorns that were eagerly received by various attendees, including unlikely candidates. I've been using the MakerBot Unicorn Pen Plotter for two months now and recently employed it in an animation project. Modifications to the Python tool "Scribbles.py" allowed me to customize the pre- and post-print G-code commands in "context.py," such as adding a machine halt in a retrieval position before returning the pen to its ready state. Additional enhancements included disengaging steppers prior to each dialog box for fine-tuning adjustments, a pre-print registration test, a post-print musical note, and automatic height increments of 0.1 mm per peeled sticky note page. These features were combined in the provided G-code to create an optimized unicorn logo print suitable for new MakerBot Unicorn Pen Plotter owners. The "Print the Next Sheet" option ensures smooth height adjustments between pages without manual readjustment. To prepare a sticky-note pad as a printing block, place two strips of tape along the bottom to secure it firmly, and then tape the three non-tape sides with drafting or masking tape. Ensure the tape is flush and press the pad down to prevent skewing. Before printing, leave the pen tool 5mm above the page and lower it when prompted for contact.
