Here's my idea of a remote control holder that hides the remotes in plain sight.

When closed it can even be used as a vase for some dry or artificial flowers.

When opened up it gives access to the remote controls; most keys can be pressed without taking the remote out.

I printed mine for some smaller remote controls, because my Prusa Mini can't print a big one suitable for my TV remote - but I included bigger versions for bigger printers.

A special feature of this design is the pattern on the sides, which are actually the bottom layer when printing. This effect is achieved by applying a pattern of thin lines as negative volume, forming grooves dividing the bottom layer into small patches, which are then filled with concentric fill. Use silk filament to make the effect shine - or even better dual-color or tri-color filament to get a great color effect. Looks best with smooth print bed. I got the idea from Heliox, but thought it would be even more impressive with tri-color filament, so I had to get a roll of that… Also I found that the pattern doesn't need to be implemented into the model, because it can be applied to any model in the slicer.

Load the object in PrusaSlicer, right-click on it → add negative volume → load; then choose fillpattern_bricks.stl (PrusaSlicer occasionally places it at some strange height; adjust if needed). Set bottom fill to Concentric, and I recommend setting advanced→elephant foot compensation to 0.

The hex fill pattern is here.

You need one “left” part, one “right” part and two “mid” parts of the desired size. Join them by using filament as hinge pin. “left” and “right” snap together to close the ‘vase’ - that might be a bit rough the first few times, but will get smoother then. If too difficult to close, use a file to sand down the snap pins a bit.
