Underwater: Wreck of Salvage Barge YC-21
sketchfab
The salvage barge YC-21 now rests in the Gutter Sound of Scapa Flow, Orkney. On November 14th, 1968, a fierce gale swept the vessel away while it was busy salvaging the F2. Fortunately, parts of the F2 are still stored on board, including two 20mm anti-aircraft guns. A single dive managed to scan both the barge and the majority of the F2, with plans to add the latter to the model once complete. The scanning was conducted using a camera mounted on a Dive Xtras Piranha scooter, courtesy of Deep Ideas Ltd. For online viewing, a decimated version of the model has been created.
