Underwater Photography fiber optic plug for strobes
thingiverse
Use a standard tosslink cable to connect strobes underwater. Regular cables cost around 40 USD per pair. To make two working triggers for your strobes, you'll need four of these plugs and one 3-foot tosslink standard cable, which will only set you back 2-3 USD. There are two models available. One is designed for a 3.5mm wide cable, where you simply cut the tosslink plug, insert the cable into the printed socket, and secure it in place with ease - one for the housing and one for the strobe. The other model is specifically tailored for a 2mm fiber optic cable. If you carefully peel back the outer layer of the 3.5mm fiberoptic cable, you'll expose the inner cable, which is the same size as standard trigger cables. This allows you to "double" the signal with two cables or use only one plug in the housing while connecting with two cables. Please note that this setup won't yield a flexible retractable "telephone type" cable, but it will work perfectly. The sizes are intentionally snug to ensure a secure fit; if needed, you can always adjust them slightly. Remember to use flexible filament when assembling your triggers.
