Underside Surface (tablet) holder
thingiverse
I was looking for a holder that could be mounted to the underside of my desk or shelf, specifically the monitor shelf/stand in my case, to hold my Surface while it's charging. Designed for use with the Surface 3 and an attached keyboard, this design would also work with any device that is 15 mm or less thick. To assemble the holder, you will typically need to print multiple pieces, usually between four and five, depending on how you want to mount your tablet. Since my monitor shelf has a depth equal to that of my Surface, I didn't require a depth stop. However, if you plan to use this under a larger desk, you may need an additional piece to prevent the tablet from falling through. Keep in mind that you will need to find a way to connect your charger. The Surface's power connector is located on the side, so I had to position the front left part of the holder slightly off-center to allow for easy access to the connector. I strongly recommend attaching the holders from the bottom using wood screws. The photos show an alternative method using industrial double-stick tape, which I used temporarily since I needed to test it before screwing in the screws and my shelf is relatively high at 15 cm.
