Underrun Challenge

As a high school student at Snohomish High in Washington state, I worked on this project during my free time. Through self-learning, I mastered simulation running and analyzed collision and impact physics to enhance the design. After numerous iterations, I settled on this particular model. However, there seems to be an error in the weight - it is stated as 535 pounds, which appears incorrect. In a collision, this design will buckle downwards, bending the up A-arms while maintaining strength and absorbing force from the rear object, thereby reducing damage to both cars; however, this could result in the need for an underrun bumper replacement. These are simple and cost-effective to produce, featuring square piping at various angles and dimensions.
