A simple solution to prevent roots from rotting: a water-collecting cup attached to a pot. The original design is available at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2874382. To use this solution, simply print the cup and glue it under your pot. This will collect excess water that might harm the roots of your plant. Here are the print settings used: Printer: Anet A8 Rafts: Not necessary. Supports: Not required. Resolution: 0.4 mm layer height. Infill: 2% infill density. Important note: Make sure to scale the model by two times before printing, or it won't fit under your pot.
