This is a solution to redeem your desk space from laptop, it's docking station and cables.Designed around a 15,6" Lenovo P1 and Thunderbolt 3 dock gen 2 but most laptops should fit as long as the thickness does not exceed 25mm.(if there's any interest I will add alternative size options). I would recommend to leave at least couple millimeters gap between the desk and the laptop. Cable pieces cover 4, 5 and 6mm cable thickness. Open back allows all of the ports to stay accessible.Can be installed to either corner(recommended) or somewhere in the middle of the underside of the desk. Installation:Start from the corner piece and set the installation block between the laptop support piece and the desk to set it level against the table(as in the pictures). NOTE: leave enough clearance for cables! (optional)Mark and drill the pilot holes. Screw the pieces to desired/pilot drilled spots with 3,5mm countersunk screws. Use the installation block for each laptop support piece. When one side of the pieces have been installed use your laptop as a "template/install block" for the other side pieces and add something narrow for example a ruler between the laptop and the pieces so the installation will not be too snug. NOTE: helping hand recommended for this step to hold the laptop in place when installing the other side.I have been using this design for a year now and it's been working without any issues. During this time the laptop has been taken in and out of the dock few times every week.My prints are from PLA with 25% infill, but I would recommend something sturdier material or at least 100% infill. (Use and install at your own risk!) Pros:No lost desk space from the laptop and dock and no danling cables! No need to clean the desk after every day working from home. The laptop will not collect dust above your desk. Reduced noise from the laptop as it is hidden under the desk. Cons:Need to drill holes to the desk. Might be possible to kick accidentally as the laptop is under the desk(thus corner installation is highly recommended).
