Under the Microscope

Under the Microscope

thingiverse

Students peer through a microscope to examine tiny objects such as animal hair, sections of tree bark, or cells up close. They sketch out what they observe, then use those sketches to build a three-dimensional model in TinkerCad. We discuss ensuring that the model is both watertight and printable before I print them off in batches later. During this process, we also explore how their prints compare to what they saw under the microscope, highlighting both similarities and differences.
