Under-Table Rack Mount Brackets - 1U, Pad and No-Pad versions
myminifactory
I designed these rack mount brackets specifically for mounting a PDU underneath my desk. They are built to be printed as a pair and come in two main parts: the larger bracket with mounting holes, which is required, and the smaller bracket without mounting holes, which is optional but recommended for deep pieces of equipment. These brackets fit a standard 1U 19-inch rackmount piece of equipment perfectly, printing easily with no supports needed. The brackets themselves are symmetrical and can be used on either side of the device; simply print two of each bracket you need to use. Note that these brackets were designed for standard-sized hardware. M5 hardware should fit, but it hasn't been tested yet! Here's what you'll need: * 4x #10-32 UNF screws, 0.75" long (equivalent in metric: M5, 18 mm) * 4x #10 washers (metric equivalent: M5 washers) * 4x #10 square nuts (metric equivalent: M5 square nut) * 4x wood screws (e.g., cabinet screws) or whatever works for your desk (#8 or #10 screws should work too, with washers recommended) For the version with a 3mm pad recess: * A sheet of 1/8" or 3mm thick adhesive-backed neoprene or rubber padding * Cut it to fit the recesses on the tongues of the brackets Here's how to install them: 1. Attach left and right brackets to the equipment ears first, making sure they're positioned correctly. 2. Hold (or have someone else hold) the device in place under your table or desk. 3. Secure the brackets to the desk with wood screws. 4. (Optional but recommended for deep equipment over 6"/150 mm or so) Attach the rear of the device to the table using the rear brackets.
