Under shelf filament spool holder
thingiverse
I wanted to simplify my filament handling from the top. First tried a long steel pipe with multiple spools on it. Worked well, but changing a spool wasn't easy enough. Unload the active filament, remove the steel pipe with 8 to 10 1KG spools, take at least half of them out, add new spool, insert pipe again, load filament again......... So I created this innovative spool holder. It fits standard 8mm steel rod or 32mm PVC pipe. Front access for easy and convenient spool removal is available. Been using this design for about six months and it functions flawlessly. The outside of the holders are flat and evenly matched, so you can place them side by side without any issue. I engineered it to be durable while attempting to minimize the amount of plastic = print time. Four screw holes are integrated into each holder base for enhanced stability and support. The load-bearing ones are more critical, but the other two are optional, offering added balance and stability if needed. Print Settings: Printer: Any Rafts: Not Required Supports: No Resolution: Any Desired Level Notes: To achieve optimal results, use sufficient infill and shells to make it strong. I successfully printed it with 2 shells and 40% infill. And, of course, there are left and right options available for enhanced functionality.
