I reinforced the foundation by beefing up the base to accommodate the #8 x 0.75" long flat head screws I had on hand. This modification allowed for roughly 0.25" of protrusion, making it easy to drive them into 0.625" thick particle board. I also enlarged the diameter of the clearance holes to fit my Milwaukee Shockwave impact bit holder snugly. Since the holes expanded significantly, I widened the hook portion to ensure sufficient strength and stability.
