Under-Counter Jar Opener

Under-Counter Jar Opener

This is an opener for jars with tight lids, or for regular jars being opened by people with arthritis. It mounts under the kitchen cabinet.Print it vertically, with the "V" shape pointing down. That way you won't need any supports. I would also orient it with the long edge in the same direction the bed moves, so it will not be as susceptible to tipping over during printing. When it's done, cut a 145mm length from a standard hacksaw blade and insert it into the groove with the teeth showing. Important! The teeth of the blade must be pointed back towards the pointy part of the V shape! You'll never get it to work the other way around. You can lock the blade into place by drilling two small holes in the blade and putting a couple of 3mm sheet metal screws in it.Use a couple of drywall screws to mount it under the cabinet, with the wide part facing you. Then be amazed by how easy it is to open just about any jar!
