Under Cabinet Jar Opener
thingiverse
I have been wanting to try out embedding something into a print half way through. And recently I saw this [type of jar opener](https://amzn.to/39koChL) on Amazon and figured I could print that using saw blades. I used 2 saw blades because that's what the one on Amazon had, but I am pretty sure you could get away with one. Although they might have done that to be able to handle shorter and taller lids. I used [these saw blades](https://amzn.to/39hKGd2) although I'm sure [these](https://amzn.to/3iLFstc) would also work, and they are a little cheaper and you get more of them. In the end, the cost would be just a few dollars less, but you end up with a bunch of saw blades left over. Definitely a lot cheaper if you print multiples. Possible to give away to family. I also used Cura post processing scripts to insert a pause at the correct layer. I wrote a blog post on how to do that with Cura: https://automatedhome.party/2021/01/26/adding-a-pause-in-cura-to-embed-an-object-into-a-3d-print/ I made it in Fusion 360, and have included that file as well. You may notice that the sketch for the spot where the blade goes is on the right side. That's because I made it backwards by accident. Didn't realize it until I was deep into printing it and had already embedded a blade. I accidentally made a jar tightener. Luckily the fix was to simply mirror the body.
