Undaunted: Reinforcements, Normandy, North Africa - Complete Player Aids
thingiverse
This is a complete player aid and storage solution for the first 3 releases in the Undaunted series: Normandy, North Africa, and Reinforcements. Everything (pretty much) fits into the Reinforcements box. See the pictures for how to fit it all in. There are two particular "enhancements" to the game experience that I designed: 1) My biggest annoyance with the game was how I would bump the map and cause the tiles to separate and markers to move. I designed a modular map base to solve this. You build the base first in the same shape as the playing map, using the map base squares, connectors, and edge pieces to create the base. Then just lay the tile on top. Everything stays neat and clean. You can easily rotate the whole map and bump it all you want. 2) I designed a unit tracker to keep record of what units are still in the battle. This information is (in theory) open info, since you know what the starting lineups look like and you know whenever a unit goes from the supply to the discard/active play area. I'm terrible at memory, so this just augments my situational awareness with this publicly available data. I "borrowed" red and green cubes from another game (First Martians). Here's how it works. You count from the inside out. One side is for each army (positioned on the same side as their respective cards). The red cubes represent "active" cards and the green cubes represent cards in supply. So if all the cards that are left are in the supply, then you would only have a green cube on that line. Likewise, if all the cards are in the active deck (whether draw, discard, or in play), then you would only have a red cube. If some of each, then there is a red cube on the inside representing the count of active cards, and a green cube further out, one space per additional card in the supply. Note that this means that if an active card is killed, then the red cube goes down one space (due to losing the active card) AND the green cube goes down a space (essentially following the red cube and maintaining the supply card count). Sounds a bit complicated to describe, but try it out and after a bit, you can tell at a glance the state of both armies. Makes you feel more like a commander!!! Here are the files (note that these provide mixed storage for Normandy, North Africa, and Reinforcements all together): UR-CardsUSA - Holds the USA army cards, control markers, combat counters, spawn markers (under the combat counters), target marker, and vehicle combat counters UR-CardsGermany - Holds the German army cards, control markers, combat counters, spawn markers (under the combat counters), target marker, and vehicle combat counters UR-CardsLRDG - Holds the LRDG army cards, control markers, combat counters, vehicle combat counters, and vehicle cards UR-CardsItaly - Holds the Italian army cards, control markers, combat counters, vehicle combat counters, and vehicle cards UR-DiceHolder - Holds 8 ten-sided dice (4 from Normandy and 4 from North Africa) UR-TilesNormandy - Holds the Normandy map tiles UR-TilesNorthAfrica - Holds the North Africa map tiles UR-TrackerLeft - The left side of the unit tracker UR-TrackerRight - The right side of the unit tracker UR-TrackerNormandie - The middle section of the unit tracker for playing Normandy UR-TrackerNorthAfrica - The middle section of the unit tracker for playing North Africa UR-TokenHolderSmall - Holds objective markers, escape markers, and damage markers UR-TokenHolderLarge - Holds radio marker, initiative markers, command tokens, rough terrain tokens, mine tokens, and structure markers UR-MapBase - This is the square map base piece. You need to print 22 of these (it's worth it!) UR-MapConnector - These hold the map bases together. You should print a bunch - I printed 42 (but you don't need to put a connector in every slot, just enough to hold the bases solidly together) UR-MapEdgeShort - These are used for short sides on the map edges. Print 12 of these. UR-MapEdgeLong1 - These are for the long edges of the map with 1 slot to fit in. Print 14 of these. UR-MapEdgeLong2 - These are for the long edges of the map with 2 slots to fit in. Print 10 of these. UR-MapBaseHolder - This holds the Map Bases, the Short Edges (in the smaller center section), and the Connectors (in the larger center section). UR-EdgeHolderA - This holds one set of the Long Edges (either one). UR-EdgeHolderB - This holds the other set of the Long Edges.
