UNC Ram Logo - Four Color Print
thingiverse
I was thinking of printing out all the individual components separately and then reassembling them somehow, but that seemed like an overly labor-intensive process. So I decided to cut the frame away from the background inserts and then scale each background element up to 0.5 mm in height, making sure they were evenly spaced about 0.5 mm apart. This allowed me to start printing with one color and then switch out to a second color mid-print without any issues. On this particular project, I started with the white background at the bottom, followed by grey and then light blue. To print these parts successfully, download them first, and when arranging all the components in your slicer software, make sure to unlock scaling and reset the insert pieces so they're spaced about 0.5 mm apart on the Z-axis. Then instruct your printer to stop at that height so you can switch out to a new filament color without any interruptions or issues.
