I created this design to tackle several key issues: 1. A sleek mounting system for the RasPi camera and lights within the frame. 2. Enhanced viewing angle for the camera. 3. Illumination of the print bed for the camera. I'm a fan of Octoprint, which allows me to monitor my prints and capture time-lapse movies of printing jobs with ease. However, I didn't want a camera dangling outside the printer, so I aimed to keep it inside the frame if possible. Additionally, I wanted sufficient lighting since the room is often dimly lit. My goal was to minimize hacking into the printer (just a few drill holes in the frame). So, this is what I came up with. When the camera is inside the frame, it needs a wide-angle lens to capture the entire print bed. I also decided to power the LEDs directly from the Pi to reduce the number of power supplies required. There are numerous photos documenting my process, and I'll attempt to add more detailed instructions later on.
