Meet the "Ultimaker in a Box" or also known as the "Noise Box", because the box resonates and is quite loud. It's not fully tested yet, but it's still usable for someone who's crafty. Do you want an Ultimaker printer in your own size for cheap? This is the answer. Build a box and these printed parts will fit any size (over a certain minimum size of course, about 100mm + wanted printsize). The uploaded parts are for ~13mm wood, so adjust the wood_thickness in SCAD to customize for other sizes. You'll have to get the Z axis and printer head from other sources - there are plenty out there to find. I've included my own extruder holder that you can customize, but I haven't made any good fan holders for it yet. If you use 6mm rods for the head, there are plenty of variants for Ultimakers to find. I used 8mm because it was what I had on hand, so I made a simple holder. You'll need to drill some holes and saw a bit to connect the rods to motor mounts. My own experience with this printer is that it works great - my box was straight, so little adjustments were needed to get everything aligned. The most important thing is to make sure the rods are parallel and 90 degrees from each other, or it will jam. Known Issues: * The bearings wander out of their mountings; I've used hot glue, but using washers between the bearings and pulleys might be a good idea. * The rods can slide inside the bearings; using washers between bearings and pulleys might help. (I haven't done anything about it yet) Print Settings: * Printer Brand: RepRap * Printer: UM2 Clone * Rafts: No * Supports: Yes * Resolution: 0.2 * Infill: 20% * Notes: Support on mount1 and mount1_mirror; other parts don't need support. Parts Needed: * 4pcs 8mm rods for xy * 2pc 6mm or 8mm rods for the head * GT2 belts (don't need to be closed loop) * 10m of bulk GT2 belts, cut to length and put them together in the xy block * 8pcs GT2 pulleys with 8mm bore * 4pcs brass bushings 8mm ID 11mm OD (search for Ultimaker brass bushing on eBay or AliExpress) * Bearings F688zz (8x16x5 mm) * Long bearings for the head, 6 or 8mm * Screws... * And a few things I forgot to mention.
