Last summer I embarked on an unforgettable journey to Hong Kong, and what struck me most was the sheer number of people utilizing umbrellas, primarily as sunshades. The experience sparked an idea - creating an umbrella using a 3D printer would be an incredible feat. Although it took me some time to finally bring this project to life (Valentine's Day provided a timely deadline), I'm thrilled with the end result. I designed a compact, folding umbrella that can be printed in its entirety, combining two of my favorite aspects: flexible structures and movable parts, all without requiring assembly. The printed canopy is primarily decorative, but it does offer some shade. However, I've also included a version without the canopy, allowing users to attach a more effective paper or cloth one. This innovative design allows for easy customization, making it perfect for those who want to add their personal touch. With its unique combination of style and functionality, this 3D-printed umbrella is sure to turn heads.
