Umbrella Holder for Wheelchair: A Handy Accessory for Rainy Days I was inspired to create this idea after watching a friend get soaked while rolling his wheelchair in the rain. He didn't have an umbrella holder, but one would have been incredibly handy at that moment. That's when I thought of designing something to help people with mobility issues stay dry during rainy weather. This accessory is for those who can't walk but still want to enjoy the outdoors on a wet day. The device consists of five pieces of ABS plastic or similar materials, which need to be printed. Additionally, you'll require one M8 x 70 mm broached head cap screw and an M8 nut to secure it to the wheelchair. The design is tailored to fit any wheelchair tube with a diameter between 22 and 25 mm and accommodate umbrellas with handle diameters ranging from 14 to 28 mm. The umbrella can be easily detached without needing any tools, making it convenient to use. Although I haven't printed one myself due to not having a 3D printer, I'm confident that the design will assemble smoothly. If you encounter any issues or have suggestions for improvement, please let me know at gcon114@gmail.com, and I'll be happy to revise the design. Now, print this accessory and enjoy strolling under sunny skies – even on rainy days! If you find this helpful and no longer get wet, consider showing your appreciation with a tip. I'd really appreciate it! Special thanks go out to Vaclav Krmela for assisting me in refining the design and test-printing it.
