This is a replacement for the air stripper and baffle assembly on the Umarex Gauntlet pellet rifle. Prints in one piece, muzzle-end-down with no supports needed. I saw a noticeable decrease in firing noise after replacing the factory baffles and stripper with this version.

In future, I plan to update the design to introduce uneven spacing of the baffles and staggered sidedraft holes to reduce the acoustic signature even further.

Edit: I've added a V2 baffle-and-stripper assembly, which takes 6% less filament, looks cooler, is easier to clean, and works better. Still prints in one piece, without supports, although you could use supports on this one if you wanted to because they can actually be reached for removal.

Both of these are designed for .22 caliber, but will probably also work for .177 as well. Not .25 though, unless you open up the bore some.

It could be easily made to fit other pellet guns, but for the best noise reduction it needs a barrel shroud like the Gauntlet has. The first stage stripper basically turns the barrel shroud into one big expansion chamber. If the pellet gun doesn't have a shroud, you could add a chamber to the model instead to serve the same purpose.

Print Settings

Printer:

Cetus Mk2 Standard

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2

Infill:

~20% (barely any infill)

Filament:

Priline PETG

black

Notes:

I increased my extrusion width to 0.5mm to allow most of the vertical walls and baffles to need only two perimeters with no fill in between, to increase speed and reduce print time.

Used an 8mm brim with hairspray on heated glass.

Category: Other
