I printed out several fan shrouds, and every single one either cracked, melted or did both. The original shroud was made of metal - stainless steel, but I opted for copper because it's easy to bend into shape. You can also use aluminum or mild steel with ease. However, it's best to avoid galvanized materials since they can release toxins when heated to extremely high temperatures. I'm currently working on flattening the UM2+ shroud and will post my results once I've completed the task. A brand new one costs $40 plus shipping costs.
