UM2+ HotendFanAdapter 40mm to 25mm with y-limitswitch expansion
thingiverse
To upgrade a noisy hotend cooling fan to a quiet 40mm fan, attach a small adapter that mounts the new fan instead of the existing 25mm hotend cooling fan. The heating cartridge and sensor cable should easily fit into place after installing the 40mm fan. Simply guide the power cable through while removing it, then position the cables in their designated spots. To secure everything, use two old screws along with the two longer ones when reassembling the hotend. Place the "Xpander" adapter on the left short end of your x-axis, which triggers the endstop to prevent the new fan from being crushed during y-axis homing. This modification will reduce the build space by 10mm on the y-axis but significantly decreases noise levels, especially during the cooling process.
