The scarab was unearthed amidst a collection of metal, stone and faience artifacts, including arms, jewelry, faience beads, cylinder seals and Levantine pendants. Nefertiti's name is inscribed on it in hieroglyphic script, marking her connection to the XVIIIth Dynasty ruler Amenophis IV-Akhenaton, her first husband. The translation of Nefertiti's full name ("Nefernefruaten Nefertiti") serves as a valuable chronological reference point for the shipwreck's discovery. Following the decline in royal scarab production during the Amarna Period, which was caused by Akhenaten's restriction on worshiping deities except for the Aten, the significance of the scarab-headed solar deity Khepri became diminished. The Nefertiti scarab stands alone as a preserved relic bearing her name. Additionally, two other scarabs were found on board, one belonging to the XVth Dynasty. A rectangular stone plaque with hieroglyphs, along with a half-electrum ring and a silver ring, all originating from Egypt, were also discovered. The digital model was created from an authentic replica of KW 772 by Architecnica for educational purposes: Uluburun: A shipwreck in your pool.
