Ultrasound Probe Covers
thingiverse
A medical professional and close friend carries an ultrasound machine extensively, but faces issues with vulnerable and pricey transducers. The device's manufacturer did not design these components for portability; therefore, he needs protective cases to shield the probe ends, particularly susceptible parts. The current design secures all three probes from his kit: - Sonoscape L741 - Sonoscape C344 - Sonoscape 2P1 This model allows easy addition of extra probes acquired later on. Post-Printing Following printing the two pieces, I inserted a layer of self-adhesive felt into their inner sides, obtained in sheets measuring 8.5x11 from craft stores. To use as hinge pins, I unbent common paper clips measuring one millimeter in diameter. Pushing them through all four hinge cylinders, I then shaped the pin so it does not fall out. Next, I curved mine into a loop halfway through its length. A tiny retaining strap can now be securely fastened to this loop.
