Ultralight Tent Stake
cults3d
No-frills, ultra-light tent stakes that weigh in at an astonishingly light 5 grams. For ultralight backpackers, this means a set of six stakes weighs just over one ounce! The stake parts are designed to fit a common carbon fiber arrow shaft (6 mm ID, 7.5 mm OD carbon fiber tube). I use these lightweight stakes to pitch my hammock rain fly, but you can use them for any ground cloth or tent. Visit your local archery range and collect some discarded arrow shafts - they're almost free! Post-printing: Cut down the arrow shafts with a fine-toothed saw or rotary tool to approximately 15 cm (5.5-6 inches). File off any burrs and secure the inserts in place with a dab of super glue. Happy hiking! Be careful when handling carbon fiber tubes, as they splinter easily. Cut slowly and consider wrapping the area with masking tape.
