Ultralight Crankbait Lure

These Ultralight Crankbaits were born from rallekralle11's Tink Crankbaits, with a few tweaks to make them even more streamlined. However, this sleek design sacrifices some of the action they're known for. They still put up impressive numbers and I managed to catch a ton of Bluegills and Yellow Perch during my first outing with them. They are designed in two halves, which are then glued together using superglue. A single thin wire is bent into loops that fit snugly between the two halves, serving as both tie-ons and hook mounts. A few short pieces of 1.75mm filament act as pins to align the halves while they're being joined. You can customize these crankbaits to your heart's content by painting them however you like. To seal them, I initially tried Miniwax spray-on polyurethane but it didn't provide enough protection. So, I went back and applied EnviroTex Lite Pour-On High Gloss Finish epoxy instead, which worked out much better. I paired these crankbaits with Size 1 Split Rings and Size 10 Terrible Hooks, giving them a very slight sink rate when not being retrieved. They seemed to work best with a slow retrieve, although your results may vary. On the retrieve, they dive about 1' deep.
