Ultralight Crankbait Lure

These sleek Ultralight Crankbaits were born from rallekralle11's ingenious tink crankbaits, fine-tuned to be even more streamlined. As a result, they exhibit slightly less wobble action, but still prove incredibly effective at catching fish. During my maiden outing with these baits, I landed a substantial haul of Bluegills and Yellow Perch. The construction involves printing the cranks in two halves, which are then carefully glued together using superglue. A single thin wire is shaped into loops that fit snugly between the halves, providing a secure tie-on point for fishing lines and hook attachments. To ensure precise alignment during assembly, I used short pieces of 1.75mm filament as pins. These crankbaits can be customized to suit your fishing preferences by applying paint. However, I encountered issues with protecting them from wear using Miniwax spray on polyurethane, so I opted for a more robust sealant – EnviroTex Lite Pour-On High Gloss Finish epoxy. This solution proved to be much more effective. When paired with Size 1 Split Rings and Size 10 Terrible Hooks, these crankbaits display a subtle sink rate, hovering just above the bottom when not actively retrieved. For optimal results, I recommend employing a slow retrieve pace, as this allows the baits to run approximately 1 foot deep during retrieval.
