Ultracapacitor Racking
thingiverse
The racking units are designed for Maxwell BCAP3000 E270 T04 ultracaps, printable with 25% fill or higher on an open-source 3-D printer. Each member holds four ultracaps, and rows can be staggered in a 12-ultracap array as shown in images. Print according to the array size needed while ensuring safety measures, as these capacitors are not toys. The Michigan Tech's Open Sustainability Technology Research Group uses this methodology to test ultracaps in various solar photovoltaic systems, particularly off-grid and microgrid ones. Updates on confirmed applications will be posted on Thingiverse. The initiative aims to lower the cost of solar PV technology using open source methods; refer to resources for more information on solar cells.
