Ultra-Simple Chess Set

Ultra-Simple Chess Set

thingiverse

A chess set of pieces and board that seamlessly transitions between square and circle shapes. The design concept is rooted in this fusion, resulting in a visually striking combination. How to Print the Pieces The pieces can be printed independently without requiring any support materials. How to Print the Board To create the bi-colored board, I employed a clever technique learned from Devin Montes at Make Anything: - First, print the white squares using the file chessboard_overlap_white.stl at 0.2mm layer thickness. This will result in a single layer of white squares. - Leave the print intact on the bed - Next, print the black squares using the file chessboard_overlap_black.stl at 0.2mm layer thickness without removing the previous print from the bed. This will complete the first layer and begin printing additional layers on top. The two prints are complementary, producing a single rectangular prism with two distinct colors in the bottom layer.
