Ultra Modular Raspberry Pi 3/4 Case
thingiverse
Alright. This is a modular Raspberry Pi Case. It's designed to fit the 3 and 4 B models perfectly. I've made sure it can be assembled in nearly any configuration requirement imaginable for a Raspberry Pi. The design is based on an elongated octagonal truncated pyramid, giving you flexibility with your build. The main housing consists of the Top and the Bottom. The Bottom is where you screw into to mount your Pi securely. The Top features 4 bays for modular facing attachments that can be customized as needed. The top and bottom halves are designed to vary greatly in terms of features like ventilation holes, mounts for fans (40mm and/or 60 mm), and more minimalist approaches. The Bottom has just as much variety with options like feet, SD access, ventilation holes, and fan mounts. The side panels have just as much variation too - some have vents, others have cabling or ribbon ports, and a few even have 45-degree interfaces to create a radial cluster with up to 8 other Pis! It's almost like having your favorite brick building company in Denmark design a Pi case for you. The truncated pyramid design allows for easy cable routing inside the case. Plus, on the connectivity end, the USBs and Ethernet ports are encapsulated for strain relief and to give your build a sleek look. The goal is to make it seem like the cables just disappear inside the case. All components are designed with a robust snap-fit in mind, using small snap spheres at connection points. Depending on tolerances, some sanding may be required. Instructions: 1. Determine what mission you want this case to accomplish. Does your pi need active cooling or will passive cooling suffice? Does your pi need to mount to a wall? Will multiple Pis be mounted together? Do you need feet for stability? Or do you just want it to look crazy cool? 2. Select 6 STLs from the set of files, including 1 Top, 1 Base, 2 Short sides, and 2 Long sides. 3. Print your selected files 4. Assemble the parts, sand to polish the fit, and glue according to your specific use case. 5. Share your build with me by posting a comment and letting me know what works well and what doesn't. Do you have an idea for a modular face that needs to be added to the set? Let's hear it!
