Ultra-Light Micro FPV Quad Racer

Ultra-Light Micro FPV Quad Racer

thingiverse

A low budget First Person View micro size Quadcopter, which I hope to someday race against others. There are two versions of the UL frame; A conversion frame for 4mm square arm gearbox quads like Vivitar Air Defender & WLToys UFO and a direct drive version with snap-in motor mounts (7.5mm). The FC platform is 36 x 40mm. If using 5" props you will need to either replace all the props with 4" or modify the rear props, I will test both methods. You can use tape, a velcro strap, a thick rubber band or an o-ring to secure the battery and wifi cam (if using FPV) to the platform using the tabs on the sides. I may add LED holes, a snazzy top cover, useless prop guards & battery tray at some point, if there is enough interest. I will be designing/building this as I go, so make sure and check back often for updated files. Update! - I added the battery tray & component deck to the design and slightly adjusted the rear motor arm angles for the direct drive chassis, as well as lightening the whole load some. So no need to mod props or change to different size now! I made separate files for the extra components and some parts will require some trimming to fit.. Update 2! - I mocked everything together and it looks like it will fly even. I may have to use rubber foam insulation around the battery and just stuff it in on top of the cam, we shall see. I am excited to see what the 16mp wifi cam sees when its flying.
