Ultra Compact GoPro Stabilizer
thingiverse
This simple, compact, and inexpensive GoPro stabilizer requires printing two parts: the GoPro clip/tripod mount and the finger ring. For strength, print with at least 3 perimeter, 3 solid top and bottom, and 30% fill. Print with support and clean the hole in the mount using a 7/32" drill before threading it with a 1/4-20 tap or bolting. Assemble the parts with strong adhesive like epoxy. A compact telescopic monopod, such as this $10 option, is needed; find it here: http://dx.com/p/stainless-steel-handheld-monopod-for-digital-camera-42504. Attach the GoPro and monopod to the stabilizer as shown in pictures, then balance with your finger through the ring while adjusting tripod mount, GoPro mount, and monopod handle for optimal stability. YouTube offers numerous "Steadicam" balancing and operation videos for guidance. Enjoy!
