Ultislide - Multiple action camera slider
thingiverse
I'm not going to work on this project anymore since the slider didn't turn out lightweight. You can easily mix the sldprt files I've attached so you don't have to worry about it. With PLA printed correctly, the design will be solid enough to carry a DSLR camera with over 20cm of rail length. This is a multi-movement camera slider that can move twice its length. If you want to collaborate, I'm working on auto pan right now. You could attribute me in your project and we can work together. The design is upgradable with a controlling rotor via slots on the sides. I've updated the side slots for bigger bearings and screw holes. The missing parts are the belt holders which are easy to design, but I need to know what type of bearing you use. The bearing hole has 20mm in height and 11mm in width. Let me know so I can design it quickly. The rail holes are exactly 8mm to ensure a better fit. If your machine prints exact sizes, you'll need to make them a little bit smaller. You'll need the following materials: - 4 LM8uu or LM8suu bearings for the cars - 4 x 8mm thick rails - 1 camera holder screw - 1 tripod nut (Check the shape before printing as they're not all the same) - 4 x 3-4-5 M3 screws to hold belts - 6 x 25mm M4 screws to hold bearings on sides and for legs - 1 x 15mm or longer M4 screw to lock bearing (if desired) - 1 solid belt or rope that won't flex, enough to connect cars together Let me know what you have so we can adapt. I haven't tested it myself yet, so I don't know about its weight capability. But with 20cm rails, it could carry around a 1kg machine without bending. Print one and let me know how it turns out. Have fun!
