Ultimate Raspberry Pi 3/B/+ Case With Fan
thingiverse
My ultimate adaptation of the popular Raspberry Pi 3 (B/B+), Pi 2 B, and Pi 1 B+ case with VESA mounts and more is now available. Adapted for fan use, aluminum profile mounting, and more. **Changes** * The original top cover was revised to have fewer vertices. * A new fan top cover was added. * A fan grill was also added. * A bottom version with aluminum profile mounting holes was created. * The screw holes were redesigned so that countersunk screws can be used. * Washers were added so longer screws can be used to secure the Pi. **Required Components** * 1x Raspberry Pi 3, 3B, or 3B+ - A must-have item! * 4x M3x16 screw, countersunk - For connecting the top to bottom. * 4x 2.5x10 mm wood screw - For tightening the Pi to the bottom. * Optional: 4x M3x16 screw, countersunk - For tightening the fan to the top. * Optional: 2x M5 Aluminum Profile Mounting - You'll need this if you decide to mount it on an aluminum profile. **Parts To Print** * 1x Bottom.stl or Bottom_Profile.stl - Use the normal bottom part if you plan just placing the Pi somewhere, use the Profile version if you plan mounting it on an aluminum profile. * 4x Washer.stl - The washers go above the Pi to help use longer mounting screws. * 1x Top.stl or Top_Fan.stl - Print the normal top if you intend not to use a fan, or Fan version if you do. * Optional: 1x Grill.stl - Print this if you want more protection for your fan. **Printing Instructions** * No supports are needed. * Print all parts exactly as already oriented to maximize quality, strength, and ease of printing. * You may use 20% infill for all parts. * You may print all parts at 0.2mm layer height. **Assembly Instructions** 1. Place the Pi into the bottom part. 2. Slide the washers onto the four wood screws and tighten them like that against the Pi. It should be: Screw -> Washer -> Pi -> Bottom. 3. If you are using a fan, tighten it along with a grill to the top part using four M3x16 screws. 4. Place the top part onto the bottom part and tighten it with four more M3x16 screws. 5. Mount the bottom to an alu extrusion if you have printed such a version. If you have any questions or found some issues, be sure to comment! I will see what I can do! As usual, I have also included the Blender file in case you want to edit it further.
