Ultimate Nozzle Brush
thingiverse
3D Printer owners know that sometimes a print goes wrong and filament attaches itself to the nozzle. I've seen many nozzles where plastic has baked on multiple times. My nozzle stays spotless thanks to a nozzle brush I created based on one my friend Jesse was using from the Colorado Printing Project. The idea came up at a Maker Faire when he talked about the nozzle brush he got from a MRRF. The material in the brush he said was the best available. It reminded me of felt moving pads that often come with your rental truck. From there I went on a search to find something that would make the ultimate nozzle brush. I found out Amazon carried the moving pads, but they were expensive and more than I needed for 1000 nozzle brushes. I settled for felt pads from a different source that proved to be perfect for this nozzle brush. Print this with the square hole facing down. The printer should be able to bridge the gap across the top of the hole without issue. You need no supports. After printing, fold two of the 1" squares in half and place one in the square hole. Place the other side flat. Filament will stick to the pad. It's easy to pick out and the pads are easy to replace. Much better on your fingers than a wire brush.
