Ultimate HF Cen-Tech Multimeter Stand!
thingiverse
Here is a basic stand for Harbor Freight's 7 function digital multimeter, which was designed with simplicity in mind by reusing the stand portion from a replacement stand made last week for the Velleman DVM850BL meter. Before making this, I quickly searched Thingiverse to see if it had been done. A handful of stationary stands and a couple of tilting stands were found, but most designs looked like overkill or too flimsy to be handled roughly. This model prints rapidly, uses minimal material, and snaps solidly into the screw holes on the backside of these meters. It attaches and is assembled by hand, with the retainer designed to be pushed out by loosening the screws holding the meter together. The retainer has through-holes for accessing the screws, which will push either side of the retainer out when loosened. Assembly is straightforward. Push the retainer through the backing plate in the obvious orientation, then snap the exposed hollow dowels into the meter screw holes, and finally snap the stand into the backing plate as shown above. These meters are terrible, but at least they're free. Having a nice stand for it that you printed yourself won't hurt if you use one. I hope this is useful to someone. UPDATE: 02/09/2020 - A touch more thickness was added to the inner diameter of the through holes on the retainer part. The part just seemed too flimsy and too easily broken during a battery change on these meters.
