Ultimate FIlament Guide and Oiler for Robo 3D
thingiverse
I've designed the ultimate filament guide and oiler for the robot 3D printer. It installs seamlessly into the square slot where the bolt is located on the X-axis belt, requiring only a few layers of masking tape to secure it snugly, as depicted in accompanying photos. This innovative design achieves an approximate height matching that of the filament intake into the hot end, ensuring that the filament remains as horizontal as possible between the guide and the hot end. The result is reduced binding and coiling of the filament as the head moves along the X-axis. The guide prevents filament from rubbing against belts and rods, eliminating a common source of friction and wear. It also provides a straightforward method for installing or replacing the sponge and adding more oil, streamlining maintenance tasks. Unlike many oiler mods, this design doesn't rely on the robot 3D's shell, offering greater flexibility and versatility. I firmly believe that this solution addresses most issues associated with filament guides. To ensure stability, it is recommended to secure the face plate down using some glue.
