Ultimate Card Box v4

The *NEW* Ultimate Card Box!!!Now with even more options vs the previous versions. But also easier than ever 3d printing and customization.Assembly: Simply download and print a matching Box/Lid pair. Rather than a spring powered latch found in previous versions, v4 uses common 8x2mm "fridge" magnets that can be found at many craft stores, harbor freight, or amazon/AliExpress for very cheap. So after you print your files just use super glue, tape, or (what I've been doing lately) glue dots/tape so secure magnets into their "U" shaped homes; remember to check/watch polarity so it holds closed rather than open. The hinge is made from a piece of unprinted 1.75mm filament pushed through the box.Versions AvailableTrading Card Games (Tested with Magic the Gathering cards with Dragon shield sleeves, kmc perfect inner sleeves, should work fine for other TCGs)40 card [MTG Drafts, YuGiOh]Variants available to hold standard Mtg Drafts/Pre-release decks and extra pulls60 card [Standard Decks]75 card [Standard with 15 card Sideboards]100 card [MTG Commander]Pre-customized versions with mtg mana symbols: 6x single colors (including colorless)10x two color guilds10x classic three color wedges5x four colorWUBRG/Rainbow/5 Color180 card* 2x100 card [2x Commander, "Battle of Wits" deck]2x180 card* [Basic MTG Cube]UNO/Phase 10/alike (~100 small cards)In Progress: Single sleeve options that better fit YuGiOh and other “Japanese” TCGMTG “Capenna” 3 color wedge optionsCatan Resource card containerPlaying Card boxes*Untested as of 8/2/2022, made using math/estimates, may be too large for some printers/fragile in useMany boxes have similar dimensions (180 card no sleeve and 100 double sleeve are only 1mm apart) and may serve more purposes than listed. No sleeve and Uno/Card game box are smaller by 4mm in width and height.Counting the pre-customized and variants, the master file has 126 VERSIONS. Customizing:The Sketchup file is set up so that each box is in its own group, and then each mana symbol is then its own sub-group. So if for example you want a Selesnya 60 card, double click the 100 card Selesnya, then hold "Ctrl" and select the 3 mana symbols (grab a line of the box's bottom to make aligning much easier) then just copy and paste into the desired size box's group. To isolate/save the box I select the box's group then invert select into a delete.Custom boxes like my picture squirrel one are made in the windows app "3D builder" via the subtract tool (in the case of the squirrel it was a cookie cutter found on Thingiverse). 0.5mm to 1mm emboss/engrave is recommended for any custom designs, they look great on the lid as well!Version History:v0.1 ~2017: First successful print, but required sanding a lot of post print work to fit cards. The hinge on this one was paper/tape, no locking mechanism and held 60 single sleeved cards.v0.2 ~2017: I went for more of the ultra pro design adding an area for dice behind the cards, an idea for a latch system was made and entire box more than tripled in size. Hinge design used m4 screws as the "pins". I didn't spend enough time before printing this design and it was nonfunctional and still required a lot of internal cleaning and sanding but held 75 cards.v0.3 ~2018: Combining ideas from v2 with v1, I took the latch from v2 and put it onto a v1 with a simple paperclip hinge.v0.4 ~2018: Made walls a little thicker/stronger and simplified hinge to remove odd loop in paperclip, opting to just cut to length or bend the ends down.v1.0 2/18/2018: First Public release, also first >100 card version. Can still be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2793367v2.0 4/17/2018: An update to v1 called the "Beefy" Box at the time, on the same Thingiverse link as above. Made the case walls excessively thick to hide imperfections in prints and accommodate the other change: a move from one latch at the bottom to one on each side to stop the box from opening if turned upside down.v3.0 5/07/2019: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3677555 Called the "Ultimate" at the time Honestly was a lot of v2 boxes of new varieties and sizes. The new v3 box only came in a few flavors and was a little easier to print/assemble. At this time, I was losing interest in TCG and my first printer went down so much of it was untested and had many things that made some of the boxes unprintable.v3.1 8/01/2022: Went in and fixed the most common boxes in v3 so they could be printed. v4.0 8-05/2022: Re-made from the ground up and tested extensively on the Lottmax Shark 2 printer, v4 looks to fix issues I have with my old design. Changes since v3: Internal geometry free and manifoldTweaked angles and print orientation to print without supportsFixed inconsistencies in angles and slopes, and center pointsRemoved curves in favor for bevels and beveled more edges like those on the lidMaterial usage has been reduced by ~60% (between v1 and v2/v3; roughly the same size as the Boulder by ultimate Guard)More consistent hinge assemble (old tolerances require almost perfect print to use filament piece) Original latch mechanism is now depreciated, in favor for 8x2mm magnets in the lid & body.
