Ultimate Calibration Test (UCT)
myminifactory
The "Ultimate Calibration Test" or UCT is designed to showcase the accuracy and capabilities of any 3D printer. This test has multiple components that provide an accurate assessment of your printer's performance. Print the UCT with the smaller rectangle facing upwards, as printing it otherwise would be unfair. I created the UCT in Solidworks in response to inquiries about the "Designability" and "Printability" of complex 3D objects. The UCT prints as a single unit but splits into two rectangular parts along an almost imperceptible seam. When this seam is broken, a cylinder inside one part, attached to the top rectangle, becomes apparent. This inner cylinder is positioned 0.2 millimeters from the outer shell of the base rectangle. A smaller cylinder, measuring just 1 mm by 2 mm, holds it in place on top of the base rectangle. With a simple twist, this larger cylinder separates from the base rectangle, dividing the UCT into two distinct parts. I also created an alternative design where the inner cylinder splits away from both the top and bottom rectangles, resulting in three separate components.
