Short description
Black powder ammo box i made for myself, sized for .44 and hold 36 paper cartridges with circa 25 grains of powder, with ample room for longer cartridges. 4 walls 25%infill whatever your pref in pattern. I recommend a wide brim. layer height does not matter. You will need 5mm diameter magnets, I glued mine in. v2 has a dedicated slot for a 100ct tin of percussion caps. the rod is press fite, you may need to scale a bit, but very quick to print. the rod is sized for v2, and will need cut down 20mm to fit v1 box. dimmensional drawing is of v2, photos is of v1. only difference is 20mm in length for cap tin.

I got into shooting percussion cap revolvers, and what I really loved was tediously reloading while at the range!

NOT!

I discovered that paper cartridges were a thing, and quickly started rolling them up, and realized I needed somewhere to put them! My first iteration was….. not great, but it was suitable, especially considering there were no caps available for 2 years! Well, lo and behold caps are back, ad i'm ready to hit the range, but i wanted a new box, so this was bourne. While not too terrible different than a standard ammo box, it has a few creature comforts. I'm not a professional designer, or really a professional anything to be frank, but this really meets my needs.

Supplies

The only part needed are some small magnets, specifically magnets 5mm in diameter and 2-3mm thick.

The box can be printed with low infill, and the rod will probably end up solid as well as the lid. I recommend 3-4 perimeters, I printed at a .25 layer height in a PLA+

There are 2 versions of the box, the v1 is the one I have printed and it's a bit smaller and DOES NOT store the percussion caps with the ammo. V2 resolved this with a spot for a cap tin, sized to my 2022 CCI tin with a bit of extra room to be safe. I have had zero issues with caps getting knocked around, and i suspect you wont either, but theres options available.

THE FRONT is perfectly sized for a few patches and my favorite disassembly tool
https://karaskustoms.com/product/tko-pry-bar/ however mine is brass, and you'll likely have something else, so put whatever you want up there, maybe caps!?!?!

If you made it this far, thanks for reading, if you have any requests like a .36 sized model, well I don't have .36 anything to size it off of, so you're out of luck, unless you want to modify the files, which i encourage you to do!
