Ultimaker Revo toolhead
prusaprinters
I designed this toolhead for the Ultimaker 2+ and similar 3D printers. Its designed for the Orbiter extruder and a Revo Voron edition hotend using 1.75mm filament. It uses the original fans for the complete toolhead, so besides the extruder and hotend, you only need to source a few M3 screws in short lenghs. My design desicion for using the Revo and original fans is that its very good balanced for each other and for the limits of the rest of the printer. If you are printing with high acceleration and speed, the bed will vibrate to such an extend that it will impact the final print in a significant way. There are no PT100 thermistors for the Revo yet, but you might be able to get it from E3D if there are enough reaching out to them to make it.Personally i run Klipper and a S6 board, so it's easy to change to whatever hardware i have.THIS DESIGN WILL IMPACT THE BUILD SPACE!!!!! new print size is X=204 Y=217 Z=215You will need to do a PID tune and recalibrate the step/mm or rotational distance on the extruder. Remember that this mod is not supported by Ultimaker and the original firmware will not work correctly with this setup.I have uploaded an adapter for a bowden setup where you can screw in a M6 bowden coupling, furthermore there are an adapter for the Bondtech LGXmini (this is not tested) and a whole other toolhead for a normal V6-style hotend. The V6-style toolhead is supposed to lock the hotend with a M3 screw from the side. I have not tested this yet, but as soon as I have time for it I will. With this I hope to breathe new life into a 3D printer with a lot of potential..If you want I have made a short blog post about how I designed it here! There will be some more pictures and video in the future…Some of you have requested the CAD file, so here it is!!!https://a360.co/3jaqcuC
