Ultimaker printhead spacer

When assembling or reassembling your Ultimaker 2+ printhead, it's essential to ensure that it's fully calibrated upon completion. This spacer serves as a useful tool to determine the correct spacing within your printhead by placing it between the aluminum brackets and tightening the 4 thumbscrews until the spacer becomes stuck in place. Two key guidelines must be followed when using this spacer: 1. The middle section of the spacer must measure exactly 16.8mm. If it's larger or smaller, the spacer has lost its functionality, so avoid scaling the model and verify its size before applying it to your printhead. 2. Avoid overtightening the printhead in an attempt to grasp the spacer, as excessive tension on the thumbscrews can cause the spacer to deform, especially when printing with materials like PLA. Tightening is not necessarily better; instead, aim for a 16.8mm gap within your printhead to achieve proper calibration. Good luck with your calibration process!
