Ultimaker PEEK Replacement
thingiverse
Eliminate bowden tube popping problems with this solution. Access to a manual or CNC lathe, or CNC mill is necessary for fabrication. A hex design is optional, but a round one works equally well. Joergen Geerds assisted in the design, and both tested it successfully using PLA and ABS. The Zip file contains drawings and instructions. While the STL preview may be nice, it's essentially useless for this purpose. Machine the bowden tube out of PEEK; Teflon/PTFE could work but might fail eventually. An M7 die is required to thread the bowden tube approximately 12mm deep. Be cautious with cheap dies like Harbor Freight as they may not perform well. Initially, 3/4" diameter PEEK was used, but 5/8" diameter PEEK is now recommended for cost efficiency. The M7 threads must be at least 10.2mm deep, and the M6 threads holding the nozzle are strong enough to support even shallow thread depths.
