After switching to direct drive, a new spool holder is essential to minimize strain on the head. This versatile spool holder can be positioned on either side of the UM + (and other Ultimaker printers with the same wall width). Simply click it into place and remove it just as easily, yet it offers sufficient support for any type of filament. Two corks are required, which are inserted into each end of the tube as far as possible, leaving a few millimeters at either end. The tube with corks is then snapped into both legs before being clicked onto the UM. When changing filaments, remove one leg, swap the spool, and snap the leg back on.
