Ultimaker Original Hotend LED Mount

Simple LED Strip Mount for Ultimaker Original. Note that different pitch LED strips are available. I have two rolls of so-called 5050 LEDs, but only one can be cut short enough to use in this mount. The Ultimaker Original is a 19v machine, so it requires either a 24v LED strip or a 12v external PSU. Running the LED strip on 9v may reduce heat dissipation, especially when printing PLA at full voltage. My single-head Ultimaker has an extra pin on the board, which I used to connect the LED strip using a spare thermistor wire. To lower the mount closer to the bed, use generic M3 washers. With E3D nozzles, this is the perfect height for my setup. Consider printing the mount with ABS or a similar material that can handle heat well, especially if you have a heated bed. My PLA print runs at low temperatures and has cooling always on.
