The original extruder on my Ultimaker transmits vibrations directly into the wooden structure, producing an immense amount of noise, particularly during retractation. Various solutions exist, but mine has the added benefits of increased compactness and stability. The solution consists of two distinct parts that must be bonded together using a cork sheet, which I secured with superglue.
