This is a direct drive extruder for Ultimaker Original+. Inspired with adaptations from IRobertI "Alternative UM2 Feeder - version two" https://community.ultimaker.com/topic/11495-alternative-um2-feeder-version-two-about-robert/ It prints very accurately and no problem from vibrations. Can print TPU as fast as PLA. -The same motor is used replacing the pinion gear with a "Feeder Knurled Wheel Drive Gear" (stainless steel; Bore 5mm; use some thread-locker with the allen screw). -Esteps are adjusted to 136. -606zz bearding (Metal Shielded Deep Groove Ball Bearing 6x17x6mm). Insert provided for the bearing to reduce down to M3 screw size -bearing to be used with M3 x 18mm allen screw (countersunk bolt csk allen key socket screws a2 stainless steel) -spring arm 39mm is optimum size needed -spring used: blue Compression Die Spring (Dia 8mm Heavy Load Duty Length 20mm) -spring is secured onto spring arm using an M3 x 35mm Socket Button Screw and M3 nut Tip for plate adhesion: Use a dilute mix of PVA glue with water (PVA:water 1:5) and apply a thin layer to the bed, then heat to dry. The plate adhesion results are astonishing.
